This is the almost finalized concept of the Siren. I just need to fix a few little details before she is perfect and finalized. I’m a little worried that she’s too green and won’t show up well underwater in a mostly deep blue setting. I’ll run some test renders later to find out for sure. I don’t want the sirens to stand out too much, they need to be able to “sneak up”.
I am rather proud of the gills I created for her. My first attempts were morphs that I created on the model and they didn’t look too good. These current gills are texture based with displacement maps. Her hair takes a while to render though so I may have to make these Sirens bald. I’ll run some more test renders including in underwater scenes before I decide for sure to keep or remove the hair.
